The Westfield Veterinary Hospital has been providing high quality veterinary medicine and surgery since 1945. WVH has been awarded the highest level of accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association. WVH has been an AAHA member hospital since 1972.

• A Highly Skilled Support Staff: Our veterinary technicians, animal caretakers, and receptionists assist our doctors in caring for your pets, and answering your questions.
• An Onsite Laboratory equipped to provide rapid results in critical cases: When time matters most, we are prepared to rapidly diagnose and treat your pet. We also have an agreement with larger laboratories when more specialized testing is required, and results are normally available within 24 hours.
• Progressive Anesthesia: When your pet needs general anesthesia, you can feel comfortable he/she is in good hands. We handle both "routine” and “high risk” patients on a daily basis. Our patients receive isoflurane gas anesthesia in our dedicated surgery room, and are continuously monitored by both our trained technicians and individual monitors for changes in heart rate and rhythm, respiratory rate, oxygen level, blood pressure, and body temperature. Patients are also placed on IV fluids when appropriate. Short procedures such as porcupine quill removal, small wound repair, or flushing an abscess can often be done under a reversible sedative as an outpatient.
• A Fully Stocked Pharmacy: We stock a full complement of medications to treat and prevent disease in your pet, including a full line of prescription diets and pain medications. We are also equipped to custom flavor medications in a liquid suspension to make it easy to treat your pet. Please let us know if your pet is difficult to medicate- we can help!
• Radiology: Our x-ray machine and automatic developer allow us to take and develop high quality x-rays in minutes. This minimizes x-ray exposure. Many x-rays are taken without anesthesia or sedation.
• Dentistry: Our ultrasonic dental scaler allows us to provide comprehensive dental cleaning and polishing of the same quality you expect from your dentist. We also are equipped to extract diseased teeth if necessary.
• Cryosurgery: We are one of the few veterinary hospitals in this area equipped with liquid nitrogen and experienced in using it to “freeze” off skin tumors and growths. Cryosurgery can be done without general anesthesia in most patients, and no sutures are necessary, making it ideal for use in nervous or geriatric patients.
• Other Resources: We have a reference library of more than 200 volumes, and have an excellent relationship with veterinary specialists in rare cases when referral is needed. Both doctors are also members of the Veterinary Information Network, an online network of more than 16,000 veterinarians around the world.
