The current economic crisis has tightened many families' budgets this year. Local animal shelters and rescues are currently overflowing with surrendered and stray animals such that they cannot accept any further animals at this time; and adoptions are at an all time low. In response to these concerns, Westfield Veterinary Hospital has decided to subsidize a low cost community spay/neuter program, in an effort to both financially assist pet owners and to hopefully reduce the local numbers of unwanted dogs and cats. |

- Open to All Cats, regardless of age |

-Open to All Dogs Under One Year of Age

-All pets must be current on rabies and distemper vaccinations (or updated prior to surgery)

-All pets must have been examined by WVH staff veterinarian within the last 3 months (or an examination must be scheduled prior to surgery)

Pre-operative Bloodwork $64
Preoperative bloodwork is recommended, but not required, for most pets. The pre-operative bloodwork checks your pet for anemia, parasites, infection, and liver or kidney abnomalities. An abnormality on your pet's labwork may indicate either postponing the surgery, or modifying the anethetics used. We do recommend performing this prior to any anesthetic or surgical procedure. The veterinarian will discuss your pet's specific risk factors with you prior to surgery. |
